Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs preliminary screening duties including explaining procedures, preparing charts, and updating records.

  • Assists with newborn hearing screening program and performs hearing tests.

  • Fits patients for hearing aids and adjusts hearing aids.

  • Cleans and disinfects instruments, equipment, and surfaces to ensure sanitary operations. Manages supply inventory.

  • Performs devise support including troubleshooting and preparing devices for fitting.

  • Answers phone calls and schedules appointments.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Substitution : A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in audiology environment.

  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification as Audiology Technician.

  • EPIC and Kronos experience.

  • Bilingual, Spanish-speaking.

  • MS Office: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross healthcare provider-level CPR certification.

  • Maintains all required licensure and certifications for the position.

  • Must be able to work in person.

  • Must be able to travel to alternate locations as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and personal skills.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented to create patient charts, file paperwork, and stay on schedule.

  • Effectively communicate observations to supervising audiologists and patients.

  • At times may explain procedures and medical conditions to patients.

  • High customer service skills to help calm patients and ensure a peaceful environment.
