Assistant, Associate, Full Professor (Tenure-Track)

The Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus seeks an individual who has a broad knowledge of current and future development of technologies that impact pharmacy and healthcare. The successful candidate will become the nucleus that brings the vision, innovation and leadership necessary to position the school as a leader in the use of technological advances to improve health.

This individual will create an environment that includes developing education and training programs in technology and innovation for current and future practitioners, directing application of data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence to mission areas and operations of the school, mentoring other potential innovators in the school, identifying and pursuing funding and research opportunities, and creating new indicators of academic success.

More specifically, the successful candidate will be expected to create a strategic vision, and have the desire and resilience to develop a leading-edge program in healthcare technologies to inform educational, clinical and research/scholarship programs in collaboration with others in the school, on campus, and in other disciplines (e.g., engineering, computer science); will have the ability to apply data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to healthcare and education to expand upon areas within the school such as informatics, telehealth, population science, gaming and apps development; will have the ability to strategically design and develop educational and training programs in healthcare technologies that enhance alternative career opportunities for students, alumni and the practitioner community to flourish in the era of the 4thIndustrial Revolution; will have the ability to develop and expand research programs and opportunities in healthcare technologies, especially as they relate to pharmacy; will have the ability to work interprofessionally with stakeholders internal and external to the school, campus and academic setting to create desirable and sustainable technological solutions to identified needs within the school; and will have the entrepreneurial mindset with ability to be creative, forward-thinking, and risk-tolerant.

The minimum qualifications are a doctorate (e.g., PharmD or other health professions degree, PhD) or terminal degree in a field relevant to the job assignment such as computer or data science, healthcare technologies, business or health administration, information technology, informatics, data analytics or a closely related field. Candidates must have a record of accomplishments in their field of expertise. In addition, candidates are expected to have experience in:

  • Technologies applied to healthcare, e.g., informatics, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence; and/or

  • Designing and developing educational and training programs in technologies impacting healthcare.

Salary and Benefits:
