The Departments of Neurology and Medicine at the University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus are seeking board certified/eligible Neurologist to join our vibrant hospitalist group. The Neurohospitalist will practice and teach General Neurology and Stroke, and will be integrated into the University of Colorado’s nationally renowned academic hospital medicine group. The position is full time faculty, with the opportunity for academic promotion, judged on criteria of demonstrated excellence as a clinician/educator/scholar.
Duties in this faculty position will include teaching, research, and service responsibilities.
Teaching activities include attending on the stroke and general neurology services, leading teaching conferences and working closely with medical students, residents, and fellows.
Clinical duties include time on the Neurology hospitalist in-patient service. This position will be part of a six person group that will have primary responsibility at the faculty level for the in-patient services, in-patient consultations, and emergency consultation of the Neurology Department. While on the Neurohospitalist service, obligations will include supervision of residents and medical students, supervision of inpatient procedures, and teaching of the housestaff and students.
Administrative responsibilities will include input into hospital systems, development of critical pathways, committee work and projects aimed at improving the hospitalist group mission. It is assumed the bulk of this non-clinical time will be spent working toward the production of scholarship. Attendance at the meetings and educational events of the Neurohospitalist and general hospitalist programs is expected. Other duties may be assigned as need arises.
Board certified/eligible adult neurologist MD
State of Colorado medical license and DEA license must be obtained on or before hire date.
Vascular Neurology board certification/eligibility preferred.
