Assistant Professor - Research

Research Faculty of Radiology (at the Assistant Professor level) specializing in pediatric MRI and MRA. The post-holder will report to the Director of the Pediatric Advanced Imaging Lab.
The full-time faculty member will play an integral role in supporting the newly established pediatric radiology research program and Advanced Imaging Lab, located at Children’s Hospital, Colorado, on the Anschutz Medical Campus and the University of Colorado School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be expected to work with the Director to develop and grow a nationally funded, and internationally recognized, research imaging program focused on advanced pediatric imaging. As research faculty in the Advanced Imaging Lab, the responsibilities will include the research and development of new imaging methods and novel analysis strategies for pediatric imaging, including cardiac and vascular imaging. In this role, it is expected that the incumbent will serve as an integral part of the Advanced Imaging Lab’s interdisciplinary research team.
This includes responsibilities associated with the following:
1) supporting the mission of The Advanced Imaging Lab
2) developing and maintaining an independent research portfolio
3) facilitating/collaborating with other investigators’ research at CHCO.
This position will participate in the preparation of grant applications in support of the Lab’s research program and be expected to apply to for independent funding, particularly those opportunities available for early stage investigators.

*Required Qualifications: *
PhD In Physics, Biomedical or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or appropriate field.
At least 3 years post-doctoral experience in imaging techniques, including structural and/or functional imaging methods applied to fetal brain, cardiac, or placenta.
Experience with pulse sequence programming.
Established track record of publications in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Experience with grant applications
Experience with grants management, IRB procedures, and research group leadership.
Experience with pulse sequence programming environment.
Teaching / mentorship experience.
Successful record of federal (e.g., NIH, CIHR, MRC), industrial, or private charity research funding.
Past leadership roles in scientific bodies (e.g., ISMRM, SCMR, SPR).
