Nature of Work:
The Department of Pathology provides Anatomic Pathology services (professional and technical) using an integrated subspecialty expertise based sign out model to UCH. We seek a full time surgical pathologist who has completed subspecialty training in gastrointestinal/liver/biliary/pancreatic pathology for a complex GI/liver/transplant service, to work with four other GI/liver pathologists in this subspecialty area. Most of the workload will be performed during a regular five day workweek, however, night and weekend call will be required in rotation with others for emergent cases. Additional interest/experience in other areas of surgical pathology would be a benefit, providing flexibility and diversity in amongst our attending faculty. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in frozen sections and frozen section call, in rotation with other surgical pathology attendings. Applicants should be board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology, and have completed a subspecialty fellowship in GI/Liver pathology as described above. The position will include opportunities for teaching of pathology residents and medical students, clinical and translational research.
