Nocturnist Service Line Director/Academic Hospitalist, Nocturnist
The Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Colorado is excited to recruit forDirector of the Nocturnist Service Line/Nocturnist position.
Nocturnist Service Line Director:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level to join our Nocturnist team and serve as the Director of the Nocturnist service line. Our nocturnist position offers exciting clinical opportunities at our Anschutz campus at the University of Colorado Hospital which is a busy 673-bed hospital that has been recently named to the 2017-2018 US News and World Report Honor Roll. Our night positions have an emphasis on teaching and excellent patient care and we work closely with the University of Colorado Internal Medicine residency program and our Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Program (for Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistants) providing teaching and oversight to the housestaff and APP fellows.
The Director of the Nocturnist Service line will report to the directly to Division Head of Hospital Medicine and Associate Division Head and will work collaboratively with day and swing service line directors and faculty to build successful strategies around clinical, educational, and scholarly activities. The Nocturnist Service Line Director will also partner collaboratively with other Division/Department leadership and health system leadership. The Nocturnist Service Line Director will utilize data to help drive innovation and to ensure both the highest quality of care and financially sustainable staffing models. The Director will also be responsible for ensuring mentorship of junior faculty who are dedicated to nights and ensuring a culture that also focuses on the importance of education, collaboration, collegiality, and fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Our hospitalists are full-time faculty and are offered the opportunity for academic promotion judged on criteria of demonstrated excellence as a clinician/educator/scholar. Administrative responsibilities allow for development as a leader within the hospitalist program, University of Colorado Hospital, the School of Medicine, the Department of Medicine and the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program. Scholarly activities are encouraged and opportunities to publish and be involved in quality improvement and research are plentiful.

Board certified physician with nocturnist experience and preferably 3 years’ experience leading physician and advanced practice providers.
