Teaching Essential Function (75%)

  • Teaching in a variety of core didactic courses administered by the department that could include behavioral health sciences, public health principles, health communication, oral healthcare management and policy, and interprofessional education.

  • Teaching in some clinical activities facilitated by the department that could include supporting Senior and Special Care Clinic; new initiatives focusing on mobile dentistry, tele-dentistry, and community oral health services; and providing other pre-doctoral clinical coverage.

Assistant Professor (C/T):

  • A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or foreign equivalent

  • Eligibility for a Colorado dental license

  • At this rank, applicants will usually have some teaching experience and will be expected to teach and/or provide clinical care.

Associate Professor (C/T):

  • A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or foreign equivalent

  • Completion of an applicable Fellowship with an Oral Health emphasis or CODA approved Dental Specialty Residency

  • Eligibility for a Colorado dental license

  • At this rank, applicants will have demonstrated considerable evidence of successful teaching and demonstrated leadership and service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some academic healthcare or government-related experience.

  • Previous academic experience teaching, mentoring, or precepting students

  • A completed post-doctoral certificate program from a CODA approved dental specialty residency or a fellowship with an oral health emphasis.

  • Candidates with a graduate degree in public health (i.e., MPH, MSPH, or equivalent) or with an additional doctoral degree (e.g., DrPH or PhD) are encouraged to apply as well.
