Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Primary Coordinator on multiple trials/studies by maintaining detailed records of studies to ensure compliance with requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), study protocols, and other regulatory guidelines as well as participate in subject recruitment efforts, including communicating with patients expressing an interest and all pre-screening/screening activities.

  • Independently master study materials, including but not limited to protocols, informed consent forms, and all other essential study documents for assigned studies as well as perform study related processes, procedures, and assessments as defined in study protocol and in compliance with regulating bodies.

  • Assist with developing or develops protocol-specific systems and documents including process flows, training manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Case Report Forms (CRFs). Maintains subject level documentation and prepares documents, equipment and/or supplies.

  • Drive cargo van (e.g. Sprinter Van) that is converted into a Mobile Pharmacology Lab to research subjects' homes. A second study team member will always accompany the driver.

  • Draw blood samples and other data measures from research subjects in the Mobile Pharmacology Lab.

Minimum Qualifications:

Intermediate Level:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field.

  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

  • One (1) year of clinical research or related experience.

Senior Level:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field.

  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

  • Two (2) years of clinical research or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in science or health related field.

  • Two (2) to three (3) years of clinical research or related experience.

  • Phlebotomy Certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

  • Knowledge regarding Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work with a great attention to detail.

  • Ability to work with colleagues and study subjects in a confidential and professional manner.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

  • Ability to problem solve and work independently.

  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.

The Lindley/Rzasa Lynn Lab focuses on studying cannabinoids as an alternative to opioids for musculoskeletal pain management. Despite the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain conditions, there have been no high-quality clinical trials of cannabis for these chronic pain conditions. Our lab is filling this critical gap in knowledge by conducting clinical trials and observational studies of cannabis and cannabinoids for chronic musculoskeletal pain conditions. We are seeking Clinical Science Professionals who will recruit and conduct study visits with participants and maintain regulatory compliance of these studies. Clinical Science Professionals perform clinical research related functions which may include patient-oriented research or research conducted with human subjects.
