Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in biological science, nursing, health, human services, business, business administration, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

  • At least three years of experience in a clinical setting.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification by The Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers.

  • Master's degree in a related field.

  • Previous experience in program coordination/management, administration, or management.

  • Experience working in an academic medical setting.

  • Direct supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve program goals and objectives; establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.

  • Effective and clear written, verbal, and non-verbal communication with the ability to read and interpret written and oral information.

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present analytical assessments and reports, and to communicate professionally and effectively.

  • Demonstrated excellence in establishing work priorities and providing follow-through, problem-solving, critical thinking, and meeting established deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully plan, organize, implement, and coordinate DME program activities in a diverse and complicated system.

  • Knowledge of DME products and procedures with the ability to effectively educate patients, family members, and co-workers; share expertise and knowledge with staff and co-workers to maintain and improve workflow

  • Ability to balance program, administrative, and organizational responsibilities; manage multiple tasks simultaneously and demonstrate attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of compliance regulations set by state, federal, and local law.

  • Knowledge of medical safety practices and ability to evaluate existing safety standards.

  • Skill in preparing and maintaining records, preparing reports, and responding to correspondence.

  • Skill in applying and modifying braces and DME products to assist the patients' needs.

  • Ability to follow instructions and respond to management direction.

  • Ability to deal with difficult situations including those with customers, employees, and co-workers, and to react calmly and effectively in emergencies and during unforeseen circumstances.
