Key Responsibilities:
80% - Perform tissue sectioning, immunohistochemistry, and microscopy techniques.
10% - Determine genotypes and gene expression, specifically work including PCR, and quantitative RT-PCR.
8% - Prepare lab for daily operations, including stocking materials, equipment, safety, cleanliness, and related areas.
2% - Dispose of laboratory materials and samples using well-established guidelines and instructions.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or a related field.
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
One (1) year of professional-level research experience.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or a related field.
Two (2) years of experience or background within an experimental or wet lab.
Experience with small animal handling preferred.
Experience with microscopy preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient knowledge of basic laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques.
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.

The starting salary range () for this position has been established as $48,970 to $62,290. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
