Job Title: Lead Certified Medical Assistant - Oncology, Highlands Ranch

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a lead and subject matter expert for other Certified Medical Assistants, Front Desk Staff, Physicians, etc.

  • Trains other Certified Medical Assistants in the clinic.

  • Accurately room patients, obtain & record vital signs, patient history, and reason for seeking care.

  • Accurately document all care provided and procedures performed within the patient's medical record.

  • Assist the providers with patient education about their ongoing care.

  • Clean exam rooms and other patient care areas between each patient.

  • Perform appropriate essential and/or routine regular delegated medical functions as directed and within the appropriate scope of practice as inferred by knowledge, skill level, and CU clinic guidelines.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of accredited CMA program and pass the National Medical Assistant Certification Exam (i.e. AAMA or NCCT).

  • 2 years of CMA experience.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree.

  • Medical office experience in the area of specialty.

  • EPIC experience.

  • Bilingual, Spanish-speaking.

  • Kronos and HealthStream Experience

  • MS Office Experience

Conditions of Employment:

  • Current CMA certification (i.e. AAMA, NCCT)

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers is issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross healthcare provider-level CPR certification.

  • Must be able to work in person.

  • Must be able to travel to alternate locations as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and personal skills.

  • Strong medical terminology knowledge and skills.

  • Strong knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 procedures.

  • Strong knowledge of value-based care and risk-based coding procedures in Primary Care.

  • Strong knowledge of medication and injection procedures.

  • Ability to safely administer a variety of treatments and medications as directed.

  • Ability to use various types of equipment for examination and treatment procedures.

  • Ability to accurately take and record vital signs.

  • Ability to accurately reconcile patient medications.

  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.

  • Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.

  • Ability to adhere to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.
