Key Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with Division Administrator, assist with compensation and budget planning and revisions on an annual basis.

  • Represent the Division in all hospital-related operational discussions, and partner with hospital leaders to implement necessary changes in operations.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor salary allocations that are complex in nature, working closely with the Department's Payroll & Compensation Specialist to ensure accuracy and timeliness of both salary funding distributions, as well as incentivized shift payments.

  • Coordinate and develop administrative policies, procedures, handbooks, and guidelines specific to the Pediatric Division, working with the Department's People Operations Director, Division Administrator, Physician Leadership and University Legal and Risk Management to ensure compliance.

  • Support Pediatric administrative team by overseeing daily tasks and maintaining group competency and resources for that body of work.

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Pediatric administrative support team by holding regular meetings with individual staff, maintaining ownership of Division huddle board, and escalating both barriers and successes to Division Administrator.

  • Plan, implement, and execute business, operational, and clinical projects at the request of Physician and Division leadership.

  • Monitor Division productivity, faculty performance, and financial dashboards and investigate variances in the spirit of continuous process improvement across the Division.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

  • The position requires four (4) years of extensive, diverse, and progressively responsible experience, including direct responsibility for managing or leading some component of clinical operations. This might include oversight of complex scheduling, budgeting, or another component of a practice providing direct patient care.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in business, healthcare administration/management, public health, or a directly related field.

  • Experience working in a healthcare clinic or medical field in an administrative capacity.

  • Experience utilizing and/or managing complex scheduling systems such as Qgenda.

  • Experience working in higher education and/or academic medicine.

  • Experience with financial analysis, budget analysis, and management concepts.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong and effective presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Ability to quickly establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  • Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing time and prioritizing tasks.
