The University of Colorado Denver seeks a postdoctoral fellow to work in the Department of Pathology at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. Postdoctoral position in Dr. Xiao-Jing Wang’s laboratory. The lab has ongoing research in head and neck cancer in the following areas: cancer stem cells, immunotherapy and the microenvironment, microRNAs, and TGFβ signaling. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, and able to work independently. Qualified candidates should have a recent Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field with a background in molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, and/or oncology. Self-motivation, commitment to scientific research, ability to learn new techniques, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Applicant should be proficient with computers. Experience with cell culture, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, PCR and animal models, including handling, colony management and genotyping strongly preferred. Position will include conducting research experiments, data management, molecular biology assays, writing grants and papers, and other duties as assigned.
Must have completed an advanced degree (PhD, MD, DVM) from an accredited institution and have working knowledge of basic research skills as they relate to cancer research. Applicants must be NRSA training grant eligible (a US citizen or permanent resident).
Particular consideration will be given to applicants with experience in signal transduction and mouse models of cancer
Salary and Benefits:
