Prevention Education and Outreach (85%):

  • Attend in-person and remote campus meetings and events as a representative of the OE to raise awareness and increase visibility of the OE's support services for CU Denver constituents.

  • Develop and design in-person and remote educational workshops and trainings based on evidence-informed practices aimed at increasing awareness, building knowledge, and developing skills related to preventing discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct (university's nondiscrimination and sexual misconduct policies), including but not limited to ethical bystander intervention, consent education, and mitigating bias.

  • Ensure the OE trainings and educational materials are compliant with University policies, as well as Title VII, Title IX, VAWA, the Clery Act, and other relevant federal and state laws.

  • Actively foster and support a university climate that celebrates our differences and supports individual faculty, staff, and student growth and encourages personal development, personal accountability, self-reflection, and academic success.

  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders at CU Denver through the development, planning, and implementation of educational trainings and workshops.

  • Engage in in-person and electronic outreach to campus constituents at CU Denver to raise awareness to the support services provided by the OE.

  • Develop, implement, and manage a campus-wide initiative to increase overall compliance with the training requirements set forth by university policy and university leadership for the CU Denver campus that increase awareness and understanding of the university's nondiscrimination and Sexual Misconduct, Intimate Partner Violence and Stalking policies.

  • Work collaboratively and provide ongoing outreach with CU Denver campus colleagues in the schools, colleges, and departments to assess specific training and educational needs of each academic and administrative unit, as well as adapt materials, training, and dialogues to specific topics on the CU Denver Campus accordingly.

  • Develop visually appealing marketing, branding, and outreach materials, including those aimed at being shared on social media, the OE website, or within brochures, posters, and other print to support ongoing prevention and training efforts.

  • Collaborate with the PEO Coordinator for CU Anschutz to manage and publicize the online discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct prevention student and employee compliance trainings.

Assessment (10%):

  • Assess the effectiveness of prevention programs, workshops, and trainings.

  • Assist the OE team in conducting the annual review of the OE's compliance with University policies and procedures related to federal and state civil rights laws.

  • Create surveys and other assessments related to campus climate as requested.

  • Work with the OE team to ensure that the OE meets its compliance obligations to offer and evaluate training related to Title VII, Title IX, VAWA, the Clery Act, and other relevant state and federal laws.

Other (5%):

  • May supervise interns, graduate, and/or student staff, as requested.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Condition of Employment:

  • This position is anticipated to have a flexible hybrid working option that is subject to change at any time based on University requirements.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long period of time.

  • Tasks may involve looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Public Health, Education, Social Sciences, Social Work, Ethnic Studies, Public Administration, Communications, Sociology, a medical field, or another directly related field from an accredited institution.

  • Substitution : A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience.

  • 1 year of professional training experience in higher education, human resources, diversity/inclusion, advocacy, civil rights investigations, employee relations, a medical field, or another related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Ethnic Studies, Public Health or Administration, History, Sociology, Higher Education Administration, Adult Learning, Organizational Development, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

  • 2 years of experience in facilitating workshops and developing curriculum specific to diversity, equity, inclusion, and/or the prevention of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking.

  • Demonstrated experience with providing high-impact campus-wide culturally engaging educational programs in person and online/virtual formats.

Competencies/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Outstanding customer service skills with demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion

  • Exercise judgment and independent initiative; handle sensitive matters that require confidentiality

  • Highly organized professional with high integrity and discretion;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
