Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as primary coordinator for all PEET program activities, including team meetings, steering committee engagement, collaboration with the health system, institutional review board and university research infrastructure

  • Coordinate PEET demonstration projects, including helping to develop and implement systems to track and map PEET demonstration projects, and administering demonstration project solicitations and application processes

  • Support and coordinate interviews and documentation of standard processes for PEET projects

  • Conduct standard research activities such as performing literature searches and creating annotated bibliographies, preparing and administering data collection tools, conducting qualitative coding and analysis, and contributing to manuscripts and presentations

  • Contribute to design, communication, and dissemination of PEET user guidance materials, prepare content for the program website, participate in consults and support demonstration project awardees with development and implementation of dissemination plans.

Minimum Qualifications

Senior Professional:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field

  • A combination of education and related technical/ paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis

  • Two (2) years clinical research or related experience

Principal Professional

  • Bachelor's degree in any field

  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis

  • Three (3) years clinical research or related experience

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Senior Professional:

  • Bachelor's degree in science or health related field

  • Three (3) years of clinical research or related experience

  • Experience with clinical informatics systems (e.g. EMR or EHR, Epic, etc)

  • Experience in customer discovery, stakeholder or community engagement, or related work

Principal Professional

  • Bachelor's degree in science or health related field

  • Master's degree in data science, public health, or a research-related discipline

  • Four (4) years of clinical research or related experience

  • Experience with clinical informatics systems (e.g. EMR or EHR, Epic, etc)

  • Experience in customer discovery, stakeholder or community engagement, or related work

Competencies: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). At the Principal Professional level, this competency should have advanced knowledge and understanding

  • Knowledge of community engagement, data science, clinical informatics systems (e.g. EMR, EHR, Epic, etc) or other relevant areas.

  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion

  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology

  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution

  • Outstanding customer service skills

The Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CCTSI) supports transformational clinical and translational research at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and affiliated institutions. The CCTSI oversees numerous programs to advance clinical and translational science and training of clinical researchers. This position is part of the CCTSI Dissemination and Implementation Research Core which supports innovation, education, and application of D&I science and evidence for the CCTSI community and the broader CTSA consortium. Specifically, this position supports the Pragmatic EHR-Embedded Trials (PEET) program, an ongoing grant-funded initiative to reduce barriers to clinical research through implementation of pragmatic clinical trials administered via electronic health records (EHR). The PEET program is a new flagship initiative within CCTSI, and involves substantial collaboration with the University of Colorado Health (UCHealth) system. Pragmatic EHR-Embedded Trials are clinical trials conducted in the context of real-world care and are implemented via patient electronic health records (EHR). EHR-embedded research enables participant recruitment, consent, randomization and delivery of treatments or interventions, accrual tracking, and outcomes assessment via EHR interfaces. This position will serve as the PEET Program Coordinator, supervised by the PEET Program Manager. At the Senior Professional level, duties are performed fully independently. At the Principal Professional level, duties are performed as a subject matter expert and will act as a team lead.

– this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2 days per week on campus (Aurora, CO) and as needed for in-person meetings. Based on performance, this role may be eligible to work fully remotely following an initial 6-month period.
