Position Summary:

The University of Colorado, College of Nursing has an opening for a Senior Professional Research Assistant to join the National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care and Early Education. The successful candidate will support projects for Caring for Our Children: National Health and Safety Performance Standards; Guidelines for Early Care and Education Programs (CFOC) and Achieving a State of Healthy Weight (ASHW).

The Senior Professional Research Assistant reports directly to the NRC director and works collaboratively with all NRC team members and other employees of the College of Nursing.

Responsibilities of the Position:

Duties:

Utilizing knowledge of advanced practice nurse, collaborate with national experts in creation, modification, and application of Caring for Our Children: National Health and Safety Performance Standards; Guidelines for Early Care and Education Programs (CFOC).

-Evaluate and incorporate current literature related to national health and safety standards.

-Provide consultation to stakeholders in the National Centers and other National Organizations on matters of health and safety of children in early care and education programs.

-Develop new and maintain existing relationships with national Subject Matter Experts for revisions to the CFOC standards

-Establish and conduct process to identify the standards from CFOC that should be contained in Special Collections of standards as needed.

-Identify and update CFOC Basics to reflect critical revisions in CFOC standards.

-Mentor and support team members.

-Support development and delivery of webinars for the NCHBHS.

Apply knowledge of child care licensing regulations to support the project: Achieving a State of Healthy Weight (ASHW).

Participate in program evaluation and compiling periodic reports to NCHBHS.

Collaborate in joint/related projects with other federal programs as reviewer, evaluator, or participant.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary range for this position has been established at $24,500 to $34,700

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

This position is eligible for overtime compensation

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in health, nursing, public health, education, or a closely related field

2 + years post master's degree professional experience in health-related settings

2 + years project management experience and/or data management

Experience with grant writing, as a research assistant, and with clinical research and/or policy research

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

5 + years of experience with scientific and/or technical writing, editing, and/or publishing

5 + years of experience with clinical/policy research projects

5 + years of experience working as a clinician with pediatric populations

Experience in working with pediatric obesity projects

Competencies:

Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

Knowledge of child development, physiology, and pediatric wellness, illness, and obesity
