The College of Arts & Media, Dean’s Office is currently seeking applications for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Student Services & Curriculum Coordinator (Academic Services Professional- Intermediate) to work closely with the Associate Dean of Academic & Student Affairs.

_College of Arts & Media_

As the first college in Colorado devoted exclusively to arts and entertainment, the College of Arts & Media understands the influence of modern trends on traditional art forms. We combine the latest technology with traditional methods, and we encourage our students to incorporate their discoveries of art's emerging dimensions with our comprehensive instruction on its classical forms. The college has three distinct departments, Music & Entertainment Industries Studies (MEIS), Film & Television FITV) and Visual Arts (VA). The MEIS Department primarily focuses on commercial music styles. Students are given the option to choose from four distinct emphasis areas of study: Performance, Singer/ Songwriter, Music Business, and Recording Arts. The Department of FITV offers students the opportunity to become knowledgeable about working in both Theatre and Film while delving into their special area of interest. The Department of VA offers degree emphasis areas in Visual Arts include Art History, Digital Animation, Digital Design, Painting and Drawing, Illustration, Photography, Studio Arts, and Transmedia-Sculpture.

Jobs in this career family provide direct professional support for the teaching and/or educational service mission of the university. Functions include academic advising/counseling, student personnel administration, recruitment and admissions, registration, financial aid, faculty affairs, library services, curriculum administration, and others involving direct support of the educational mission of an academic unit.

Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.

At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.

_Position Emphasis/Nature of Work: _

As part of the College of Arts & Media Dean’s administrative team, this position will work closely with the Associate Dean of Academic & Student Affairs regarding the development of class schedules, enrollment wait-lists, curriculum approval processes, exit surveys, advising appointment in-takes and scheduling, and the RTP process, among other duties and projects.

Assist Associate Dean of Academic & Student Affairs with a wide range of duties and tasks that promote academic and student success:

Academic & Student Success:

  • Finalizes teaching schedules, monitors student data, and is responsible for management and tracking of faculty workload through CU SIS

  • Facilitate curriculum approval process in the College (including ACPOL committee)

  • Supports the 3 CAM departments offering undergraduate and graduate major, minor and certificate programs and handles a variety of other duties to support student services

  • Coordinates, manages and monitors all course scheduling and rooming, curriculum and development materials, registration and enrollment, and is the catalogue point of contact and editor, coordinating all related matters for the college with the Office of the Registrar.

  • Oversee intake process for the scheduling of drop-in advising appointments.

  • In conjunction with the Associate Dean, coordinate the RTP process and other policy related matters

  • Assist with the development and execution of student exit surveys and data collection from the surveys

  • Work closely with Department Chairs and administrative staff to track and evaluate enrollment management strategies

  • Understand the planning, analysis, and information management needs of academic and administrative decision makers within CAM, and lead efforts to implement identified solutions in the most effective and efficient means possible.

Administrative:

  • Manage the Dean’s office front desk (to include: hire and mentor student workers; creating coverage schedules; address any visitor concerns)

  • Act as back-up support for the Dean’s Office reception desk during gaps in coverage

  • Coordinate academic and student success meetings, as needed

  • Responsible for overseeing the assignment and tracking process for locker assignments; issuing notices to vacate, changing combinations, and tracking usage

  • All other advising, student services, or office duties as assigned

_Salary and Benefits:_

The hiring range has been established at $45,000-$55,000 is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation

*Minimum Qualifications: *

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, education, student services, business, project management, or a closely related field.

Substitution: A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the specific degree requirement, but may not also be used for the specific professional work experience below.

  • 1 year of professional level experience working within higher education in student services, academic success, or a closely related area/field.

_Conditions of Employment: _

  • Must be willing and able to successfully pass a national criminal and sex offender background check

  • Must be willing and able to work nights and weekends, as requested for events and meetings

_Preferred Qualifications: _

  • Experience in creating complex schedules and reports.

  • Experience working in a higher education setting.

  • Experience with maintaining compliance with complex rules, contracts, regulations and/or accreditation standards.

  • Experience working in and using CU SIS or a similar platform

  • Proficient is using Microsoft Office
