Dining Technician Supervisor

This position supervises Dining Maintenance operations and exists to provide leadership along with skilled mechanical support whether scheduled or unscheduled work in a professional, safe, courteous and timely manner to the University of Colorado Housing and Dining services.

Housing & Dining Services, Campus Dining Services exists to provide 3.3 million meals per year for the students, staff, faculty and guests of the university. Campus Dining Services is comprised of Residential Dining Halls, Catering and Retail outlets which operate year round. Campus Dining leads the industry with superior quality food and exceptional dining experiences. We continue to expand our sustainability initiatives and reduce our carbon footprint in our daily operations, including efforts in resource recovery, conservation and food sourcing. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Leadership, management, supervision
Oversee dining mechanics for all HDS dining operations, develop individual training goals for each team member, customize performance plans and coach team members for maximum success.
Ensure that there is essential coverage and prioritize work order assignments. Schedule work, time of day, day of the week, who and what it may effect, notifications, security, safety, and code issues.
Assist in strategic planning of Dining operations, formulating programs and processes to meet objectives of division, including policy development and implementation, resource planning, staffing, and scheduling associated with the following initiatives:
Develop a multi-year preventative maintenance program for Housing Dining Services.
Assist in implementation of the Work Management process and associated Work Management system.
Develop Standards checklists for operations repair and maintenance work.
Appliance Repair and Service
Meet with dining managers to coordinate and schedule repairs on kitchen equipment, preventative maintenance on all dining equipment to include hood sytems.
Assist with maintaining an up-to-date dining equipment inventory status.
Work with asset manager to develop preventative maintenance schedule to maintain and repair all kitchen equipment.
Provide written or verbal requests for equipment replacement when costs of repair exceed value of the equipment.
Advise Dining services administration on equipment purchases and renovations.
Perform all recommend PM's per the MFG O&M.
Building Systems and Service
Perform inspections and services of Dining Equipment, refrigeration and control, sub-systems and components related to control problems, heating, cooling, and evaporation/ventilation for proper temperature, pressure and operations.
Inspect and repair internal appliance electrical, plumbing, and mechanical parts.
Make on spot adjustments and minor repairs.
Schedule and give notifications for shutting down equipment that requires ordering parts and assembling of special tools. Communicate with users/customers to the ramifications of such for repairs. perform all recommend PM's per the MFG O&M.
Other Duties as assigned by supervisor.
What You Should Know
This position does operate a University vehicle and a valid driver's license is preferred.

What We Require
Four years of progressively responsible service in repair and refurbishment of dining equipment.
Experience in maintenance and repair of commercial dining equipment, pipe and/or mechanical trades experience related to the work assignment.
At the Universities discretion, successful completion of a formalized plumbing, pipefitting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning apprenticeship program or higher level, non-correspondence course work in the same fields from an accredited vocational school or university may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
What We Would Like You To Have
Two years of leadership and supervision experience.
Experience with commercial kitchen equipment and restaurant kitchen equipment and installation.
A valid driver's license
