The University of Colorado and Housing and Dining Services encourages applications for an Irrigation Specialist! This position performs general grounds maintenance and assists in managing the Housing and Dining Services irrigation system.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Assist with the seasonal start up, shutdown and routine maintenance of the HDS irrigation system.
Perform regular inspections to ensure efficient system performance and coverage.
Repair heads, valves, lateral pipe, main-lines and wiring as needed.
Inspect and maintain irrigation control boxes and valve enclosures as well as follow accurate utility location procedures.
General Grounds Maintenance
Snow Removal and Ice Abatement
Vehicle, Equipment and Tool Maintenance
Responsible for the accurate use, maintenance and care of all assigned equipment (tractors, large mowers, vehicles, GUVs, 2 cycle equipment, hand tools, etc.).
Complete regularly assigned preventative maintenance (PMs) and schedule additional maintenance or repairs as needed.
Report any missing equipment and all accidents that result in physical damage to University vehicle(s) or property; University Police Department, Risk Management and the Transportation Center, as required.
Enforce all Housing and Dining Services and University safety guidelines and policies.
Responsible for the safe operation of vehicles, equipment and tools. Seeks instruction on safe operating procedures from Supervisor as needed and uses personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
What You Should Know
Respond to critical irrigation system failures outside of normally scheduled work hours as needed; including nights and weekends.
This position does operate a University Vehicle and a valid Drivers License is helpful.
Offer is contingent upon completing a Pre-placement Physical exam.

What We Require
What We Would Like You To Have
Certified Irrigation Technician by the Irrigation Association or similarly recognized industry organization.
Valid Driver License.
