The Layer Laboratory (layerlab.org) in the BioFrontiers Institute and the Department of Computer Science seeks a Post Doc for a new collaboration funded by Intel to develop large-scale genomic search algorithms for an experimental hardware accelerator. The goal of the project is to develop new algorithms and new data encodings that will use the unique capabilities of the hardware. We will be working closely with engineers at Intel as they develop the microarchitecture and API for the device.
We are a new lab and are looking for a passionate scientist to join the team. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and growing team of scientists, software developers, and clinicians working to integrate computational genomics into health care. Our research develops open-source methods that enable efficient exploration of large and diverse genetic databases.
The University of Colorado Boulder is committed to building a culturally diverse community of faculty, staff, and students dedicated to contributing to an inclusive campus environment. We are an Equal Opportunity employer, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.
