Job Summary

The Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering welcomes applications for a Research Engineer. This position will lead the development of our next generations of mid-infrared frequency comb lasers and frequency comb-based spectrometers. This includes working as part of a larger collaborative team of researchers deploying these spectrometers for sensing applications in aerosol science, hypersonic propulsion, wildfire research, and industrial/medical process monitoring.

The Precision Laser Diagnostics Laboratory for Energy and the Environment at the University of Colorado develops and deploys laser-based sensors to solve problems across atmospheric, combustion, and industrial systems. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Frequency comb and frequency comb spectrometer engineering leadership.

  • Deployment of the spectrometers for sensing applications with a larger group of researchers and collaborators.

What We Can Offer

The starting salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 annually.

PhD in Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry.

What You Will Need

Experience with optics, photonics, and lasers.
