Software Engineer / Software Analyst

In this role, you will develop, enhance, and maintain web applications for various campus departments by conducting system requirements studies, analyzing needs at the user and department level, and designing, developing and deploying the applications.
You will also participate on an Agile development team, facilitating problem identification and solutions, and supporting the application post-production.
As a fullstack developer, you will be responsible for resolving complex issues and be expected to bring software development best practices to the OIT organization as well as influence future application and database implementations.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Programming, Development, and Support
Independently and collaboratively perform coding, unit testing, and documentation; improve architecture and optimize performance; and participate in cross-functional teams that address strategic business issues.
Tactical solution design and implementation; analyze manual and automated administrative systems and processes; study and translate system requirements by developing technical solutions, analyzing paper and data flows and processes, and incorporating business policies, procedures, and objectives.
Analyze disparate information systems and develop technical plan for integrating the systems as required.
Work with customers to learn business requirements and turn those into technical requirements.

What We Require
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field. A combination of education and or relevant experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis.
Familiarity with SQL database (Oracle, MySQL, or others).
Experience with MVC and Object Oriented Design and Programming.
Familiarity with source code control, such as GIT.

What We Would Like You To Have
Preferred Qualifications include experience with:
Application servers such as Tomcat, Apache
Relational Databases such as Oracle, MySQL
Web application development.
Automated Unit Testing
Test Driven Development
