The Bursar’s Office at the University of Colorado Boulder welcomes applications for a Sponsorship Accounts Specialist. The role of this position is to coordinate between 3rd party sponsors and the University in billing tuition, fees, and other student charges to 3rd party sponsors in accordance with the terms of their individual agreements; to credit and adjust student accounts to reflect 3rd party sponsor commitments, to create offsetting 3rd party accounts receivable, to apply payments received for the receivables, and to refund over-payments that cannot be re-applied in accordance with the University’s policy or the sponsors' requirements.

The mission of the Bursar’s Office at the University of Colorado Boulder is to efficiently enable and assist students and departments in meeting their financial obligations, with a focus on financial integrity and accountability. The Bursar’s Office is responsible for the management of key university financial resources and records, and acts as a central collection point for university receipts.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
3rd Party Sponsorships Management
Serve as primary contact for sponsors who want to sponsor student tuition and fees.
Make adjustments to student accounts and corporate accounts in the Student Financial module to ensure the accuracy of sponsorship amounts.
Generate and program sponsorship contracts based on sponsors' requirements, and applies the contract to student accounts to reflect accurate balance.
3rd Party Sponsorship Billing
Responsible for billing and collecting sponsors' receivables.
Use query tools such as PS Query and MS Access to help review billing accuracy.
Work closely with SF accountant to ensures bills are processed timely and accurately.
Other Control Activities
Responsible for payment logs review to ensure the completeness and accuracy of payments received through campus mail and regular mail.
Make adjustments to student accounts and ensures the transactions are recorded accurately according to General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Regulations, State Fiscal Rules, National Association of College and University Business Officers Standards (NACUBO), and University accounting policies and procedures.
What We Can Offer
Anticipated starting salary is $49,000. Commensurate with experience.

What We Require
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Accounting.
Full-time professional accounting experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree in accounting on a year-for-year-basis.
What We Would Like You To Have
Experience in Campus Solutions.
Experience using queries tools such as Cognos, PS Query, MS Access, etc.
Experience in a Higher Education setting.
One year of full-time professional accounting experience.
