TheDepartment of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineeringat theUniversity of Colorado Colorado Springsinvites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level. Applicants must have a demonstrated ability or potential to make significant contributions in externally funded research and publish in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and a commitment to excellence in teaching.
The MAE Department offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in mechanical engineering and an undergraduate minor in aerospace engineering. The Department is currently the largest in theCollege of Engineering and Applied Scienceswith an enrollment of approximately 550 undergraduate and 30 graduate students. Located in the beautiful front range of the Rocky Mountains, the Department benefits from its proximity to a wide range of high tech industrial and military organizations.
The successful candidate will be expected to make balanced contributions in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, research, and campus and professional service.
All outstanding candidates whose research interests pertain to aerospace engineering will be considered, but preference will be given to applicants working in the areas of Thermal/Fluid Systems, specifically:
• Gas Dynamics
• Space Environment
