Nature of Work

The Curriculum Management Specialist performs tasks related to academic course scheduling, academic catalog maintenance, and ad hoc academic classroom scheduling. Academic course scheduling includes creating, cancelling and modifying course offerings, updating documents associated with the course schedule, and providing administrative support to faculty and academic departments in the delivery of course scheduling services. Course catalog involves adding, removing, updating and reviewing academic course information in the student information system and in the external academic catalog. Ad hoc scheduling involves reserving classrooms for meetings and events in the student database, and maintaining the scheduling email account.



Examples of Work Performed

  • Serve as course scheduling specialist for the Colorado Springs campus, maintaining over 5,000 course sections annually.

  • Serve as a contact for academic colleges, campus departments, and campus committees regarding academic course scheduling activities.

  • Process three course schedules annually including the adding, canceling, and updating of course sections in adherence with the term course schedule production calendar and applicable campus policies.

  • Process assignment of classrooms for courses on the Colorado Springs campus by applying rules for priority room assignments and ensuring compliance with state fire regulations for seating capacities.

  • Ensure the enforcement of requisites by assigning enrollment requirements and enrollment requirement groups.

  • Process ad hoc scheduling assignments of academic classrooms for campus events.

  • Maintain course inventory catalog in the student information system.

  • Audit each course catalog entry to validate the correctness of course attributes.

  • Communicate curriculum management policy to campus constituents.

  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with administrative staff, deans, department2093790chairs, and faculty to support curriculum management.

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and as such, it is not eligible for overtime compensation



Salary Range

$42,000
