University of Colorado Postdoctoral Fellow (Research Associate) - Trauma in Colorado Springs, Colorado

TheTrauma, Health, and Hazards Centerat theUniversity of Colorado Colorado Springsis seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to assist the EASE Co-Principal Investigator in the ongoing coordination, analysis, and dissemination of this study.

The EASE Study is a National Science Foundation funded study, currently in the final stages of datacollection, thataims to build a smart system that empowers individuals who are suffering from traumatic experiences by combining multi-source information and machine learning to improve treatment. The EASE study is funded by the 4-year Smart and Connected Health grant through the National Science Foundation.The project measures psychophysiological and facial expression factors and self-report as indicators of engagement while participants work on the modules of the My Trauma RecoveryTMwebsite. Collectively, psychology and computer science teams are transforming the psychological and physiological information into computer algorithms that use state-of-the-art machine learning technologies to make the trauma recovery website 'smarter'. Based on the trauma survivor’s own responses and experiences to the website, the trauma recovery site will automatically adapt, either with module order, content or both to more effectively engage the user. The long-term goal is to create an adaptive, evidence-based trauma recovery web intervention that improves treatment by increasing self-efficacy and optimizing engagement.

_Examples of Work Performed:_Research design, analysis and coordination, including assessment design, development, and administration, coordination of data collection and analysis, and writing up study results and disseminating research in appropriate venues.

_Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities_: Strong research background in design and statistics, quantitative research skills, and knowledge of psychological and other social science research on trauma, resilience, web/app mental health interventions. Strong methodological, statistical, and writing skills are required.

_Salary Range_: $47,000 – $49,000

_Minimum Requirements:_ Ph.D. in Psychology, or a similar field (e.g., health sciences, physiology, public health, sociology, social work). Experience designing and conducting research, and statistical analysis. Must also have record of publication(s).

_Preferred Requirements:_Previous postdoctoral training; coordinating a federally funded research project; grant writing; and advanced statistical analysis (e.g., machine learning, network analysis, non-linear dynamic analyses, hierarchical linear modeling, latent growth curve and class transition analysis, latent class analysis).
