Student and Community Counseling Center has an opening for a full time University Staff (unclassified) Clinical Counselor position.

Jobs in this career family support students' emotional and physical well-being and intellectual, cultural and social development outside the context of the formal instruction program or traditional academic unit. Functions include student counseling, career guidance, residence life, multicultural affairs, support of student activities and organizations, recreation services and intramural athletics administration.
Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.
At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.
The Clinical Counselor is a therapist in the CU-Denver Student and Community Counseling Center. This position provides culturally responsive mental health services and outreach to CU Denver students. The Clinical Counselor provides direct individual, couple and family counseling, as well as outreach and prevention for CU Denver students. This position facilitates group counseling, conducts client intake evaluations, assesses and triages walk-in clients at the Center, and keeps accurate, timely records that comply with all state laws and ethical guidelines. The Clinical Counselor provides prevention programming and mental health wellness services with a focus on multicultural populations, and provides consultation and training for other campus groups, faculty and staff about the mental health needs of CU Denver students. This position participates in weekly staff meetings, and marketing, outreach, and campus awareness activities as requested.

Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position has been established at $47,000 to $ 57,400 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

A master’s degree in a counseling related field from an accredited institution.
Licensure as a mental health professional in Colorado (psychologist, LPC, LMFT, LCSW).
One (1) year of professional level experience working directly with a college student population in a clinical capacity.
Experience working with diverse/marginalized identity undergraduate and graduate college students, knowledge about their communities, and effective intervention strategies.
Multicultural counseling training, experience, and demonstrated competence.
History of work with addictions and prevention programming, trauma, and other mental health concerns.
Experience working with marketing through internet and social media.
Experience working with Titanium electronic record system.

Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
Mental health knowledge, experience, and skill in working with college populations and their families.
Ability to provide short-term psychotherapy.
Ability to work as part of multidisciplinary treatment team.
Ability to provide culturally sensitive counseling for clients of diverse backgrounds, including race and ethnicity, sexual orientation, ability, and socio-economic status.
