The Office of Digital Education reports to the Chancellors of the CU Denver and CU Anschutz Medical Campuses and is leveraging the combined expertise of these innovative units to advance the campus’ capabilities to support the needs of today’s employers. As such, the unit is entering a period of rapid evolution and growth. The investment by the campuses in the Office of Digital Education, combined with recent commitments focused on online education by the University of Colorado Board of Regents, make this a rare and exciting opportunity to work with this team.

*Please note – this position will office at CU South Denver, which is located in the Lone Tree, CO, approximately 20 miles south of downtown Denver.

*Nature of the Work: *

The Office of Digital Education is accepting applications for a full-time University staff (non-classified) Senior Marketing Manager (Brand). The Senior Marketing Manager – Brand is responsible for planning, development and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives, including identifying high-converting marketing channel strategies for overall brand campaigns. Position's main objective is to assist in the creation of innovative and compelling marketing campaigns that will drive enrollment for overall CU Online and other professional development programs.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing.

This position may supervise full or part-time staff.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Develop new strategies/enhancements for CU Online initiatives, value propositions and unique selling propositions to various market segments

  • Project Manager and liaise with internal creative, production, and web team

  • Monitor, review, and report on CU Online PPC and SEO performance

  • Manage media budget, reconciliations, and allocations

  • Define audience segmentation/profiling

  • Foster the development of innovative marketing solutions tailored to the CU brand characteristics

  • Adheres to branding requirements and makes sure that all advertising, marketing and communications are in line with CU graphic standards and the CU brand

  • Create framework, outlines, presentations and documents for management

  • Develop/suggest enhancements and improvements to marketing materials (website, banner, directory copy, email, landing pages, brochure, e-newsletter, print, tradeshow/conference, whitepaper, podcast, webinar and demos) with the goal of increasing lead generation volume and media effectiveness

  • Act as final quality control for copy/content/design for selected projects

  • Engage in monthly audits to validate marketing materials, messages and placements for quality and accuracy

  • Work with recruitment on their enrollment progress and ensure targets are met/exceeded though a combination of marketing and recruitment activities

  • Manage email campaigns, from audience segmentation to email creative development, including deployment and measurement

  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns designed to deliver customer retention, generate online conversions and deepen customer relationships

  • Coordinate and collaborate with paid search and SEO vendors on lead generation efforts, working to find new sources and methods for enhancing lead generation efforts

  • Jointly own all related marketing & media deliverables and work together to ensure that all timelines and objectives are met

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been established and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate area of specialization from an accredited university or college; two years of appropriate experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited university or college

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing and higher education, particularly brand-level marketing

  • Digital marketing (PPC, SEO knowledge)

  • Project management, experience with Teamwork a plus

  • Accounting/budgeting experience managing budgets that exceed $500k

  • Strong work ethic and positive problem-solving attitude, and enthusiasm for and experience in team building and skills in a collaborative working environment.

  • Skills to organize and complete complex projects and to work under tight deadlines.

  • Possesses outstanding interpersonal relationship skills, along with an understanding of the inherent need to establish and maintain effective and supportive relationships with staff, faculty, students and with departmental representatives within the campus and university.

  • Strong knowledge of marketing principles and best practices
