Job Title: Temporary Researcher

This is a Temporary position limited to no more than 12-months. This position is part-time and limited to no more than an average of 30 hours a week in a twelve-month period.

Job Summary:

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Provide input on design and implementation of project goals

  • Work with faculty to develop and incorporate prototyping needs for the programs that are supported

  • Assist faculty in engineering tasks for the research projects

  • Evaluate, recommend, and support academic technology tools

  • Participate as assigned on campus level task forces or other initiatives related to educational technology, instructional design as directly related to this position

  • Experience utilizing MS Outlook; experience will include utilizing electronic mail and calendars and electronically scheduling meetings, appointments, and conferences.

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Word to develop, edit and update reports, letters and correspondence.

  • Experience with working with technology and people with disabilities

  • Background in Engineering

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong decision making skills; ability to independently analyze and resolve complex problems via examination of established protocols

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels in the organization

  • Ability to produce accurate and timely work products

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to details and accuracy

  • Ability to work under pressure and to track and maintain timelines for grant development and submission, research protocol implementation and reports and grant funding utilization

  • Ability to learn new skills, synthesize and apply knowledge from diverse disciplines

  • Strong research management skills to include comprehensive understanding of academic medical institution research standards.

This temporary staff position will be responsible for assisting in the research for the Center of Inclusive Design and Engineering Program. This part-time position will assist with engineering tasks, prototyping in research and development, and assist faculty with the various industry projects.

  • this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

The Department of Bioengineering is a multi-disciplinary, multi-campus Department at the University of Colorado Denver (UCD). Bioengineering research and education at the University of Colorado Denver focuses on the application of engineering principles in the design, analysis, construction, and manipulation of biological systems and biomedical technologies, and on the discovery and application of new engineering principles and technologies inspired by the properties of biological systems. Current areas of research and teaching emphasis include biomedical devices, biomechanics, medical imaging and diagnostics and cell and tissue engineering. The Center for Inclusive Design and Engineering (CIDE) is a program within the Department of Bioengineering, College of Engineering, Design and Computing, University of Colorado Denver|Anschutz Medical Campus.
