Master of Humanities and Master of Social Science (MHMSS) Programs

The Master of Humanities and Master of Social Science (MHMSS) programs invite applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track two year appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Denver.
The MHMSS programs are graduate level, interdisciplinary programs, housed in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School. They are two of the the oldest interdisciplinary programs in the region. Although distinct master degree plans, the MHMSS faculty, staff and students work closely with one another as a community of learners, scholars, and teachers. Together the programs have two-full-time tenure-track faculty (program Directors), one full time instructor (non-tenure track), affiliate lecturer(s), and a full-time Program Assistant. At any given time, the programs have between 80-100 graduate students at various stages in their studies. Job responsibilities include teaching two graduate-level courses (at least one required core course) and up to two undergraduate courses (negotiable) per semester, creating new graduate courses appropriate to the interdisciplinary needs of the programs, advising and mentoring MHMSS graduate students, and program service. Preference given to candidates who demonstrate interdisciplinary research and teaching interest or experience. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for spearheading student, alumni, and community engagement and outreach.

Ph.D. in a Humanities, Social Science or related field.
Experience teaching graduate level courses, experience mentoring master theses, a commitment to advancing student conference attendance/publications, knowledge of, and respect for, interdisciplinary culture and values, and a history of building bridges between university and the community.
