Visiting Assistant Professor Position

The Department of Architecture at the College of Architecture and Planning, University of Colorado Denver, invites applicants for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position to commence August 2019. The Department seeks highly motivated candidates, with a developed pedagogy and the ability to combine teaching with a progressive research agenda and/or creative activity.

In addition to the Architecture Program, the College of Architecture and Planning (CAP) offers a BS in Architecture and professional Master’s degrees in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Historic Preservation, and a PhD in Design and Planning. CAP also maintains several partnerships with universities in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, and houses four research centers: the Colorado Center for Community Development, the Center of Preservation Research, the Center for Advanced Research in Traditional Architecture, and the Colorado Center for Sustainable Urbanism. The Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture is expected to teach design studios and lecture courses at the Undergraduate level. In addition to teaching, the candidate is expected to engage in research/creative work, and service. The standard academic-year teaching load is two courses per semester.
*Minimum Qualifications *
• Terminal degree in architecture (or international equivalent)
• Evidence of ability to teach lecture courses and design studio
• Demonstrated expertise and teaching in a field of study
• Evidence of research and/or creative work
*Preferred Qualifications *
• Ph.D. in the history of architecture or an allied field
